Välinge and Unilin enter into a non-assertion agreement on Multifit Fold Down.Viken, Sweden - July 08, 2010 Today Unilin and Välinge announce that they have reached a non-assertion agreement regarding Unilin's Multifit products for wood, meaning that Välinge will not assert its 5G fold down patents against the current products. In order to offer the market a more secure position regarding Unilin's own Multifit wood products in relation to Välinge's 5G fold down patents, the parties have reached this understanding.Multifit by Quick-Step and Unilin is an advanced version of the snap tab systems. We are pleased that also Unilin has introduced fold down systems for wood and that the parties have reached a reasonable commercial solution for the protection under the Välinge 5G patents, says Per Nygren, Director Fold Down Technology. Both Unilin and Välinge are broadly recognized to be the pioneers of glue-less assembly systems for hard flooring panels. The parties have had a cross license agreement for many years that has provided legal security and high quality locking systems to the industry.
