The holographic label system, Välinge’s most recent action against infringing products and unfair competition, in cooperation with Unilin, is now fully in force. After its launch by Unilin during Domotex Asia 2012 and by Välinge during late autumn 2012, an intense implementation period started. Said period has now been completed as the general deadline for the implementation was set to June 1st 2013.
As previously announced, the label system only applies, for the time being, to Välinge’s licensed partners in China. The general effect of the deadline is that products manufactured and sold under a license from Välinge that leave the factories of the licensees in question, without the appropriate labels after June 1st 2013, will be considered as unlicensed and infringing products. Such flooring products without labels will be a clear indication that the products are unlicensed, since Välinge and the affected licensees have agreed that all licensed products shall be provided with labels and that unlabeled products will be considered as unlicensed. Pursuant to the agreement, actors (such as importers and distributors) and others doing business with the unlabeled products in question, may be found to infringe Välinge´s patent rights.
