Patent victory in Austria

Viken, Sweden - July 03, 2008

The Austrian Patent Court has confirmed the validity of Välinge’s angle/snap installation method patent (E 187 222)*.

This patent is the Austrian validation of the Välinge European patent EP 0 855 482. The European Patent Office has already during Opposition procedures confirmed the validity of the EP patent in a final decision of the Boards of Appeal.
The case was filed by EFP Floor Products and its customer INKU.
The Austrian Patent Court has rejected the argumentation made by these parties and has dismissed the request to revoke the patent. The requesting parties have also to pay the costs of the procedure.
This decision confirms the strength of Välinge’s basic patents and is a further recognition of the inventions protected by these patents.
