5G tongue supply reaches 150 million pcs annually in 2011
Viken, Sweden - January 16, 2011
Välinge 5G tongue supplies will already next month pass 100 million on a 12 month period. With the success of the 5G technology, licensees forecast more than 150 million in 2011.
Välinge started its tongue production in 2005 as a support for our first licensees starting with the 5G technology. At that time the tongues were only of the bow shaped design and volumes rather low. The next coming years some of our licensees invested in their own tools for their own tongue supply. The main reason for this was that we did not have tongue production in North America or Asia to meet the demand at that time. Today Välinge has production units in Sweden, USA and in China to meet the demand in each region.
"During the last 3 years all new licensees that has been starting with any of our 5G technologies has decided to get their supply of tongues from Välinge due to our combination of knowledge, quality and price. Also several licensees that initially invested in their own tools now change to source their tongues from us", says Mr Per Nygren, Director Fold Down Technology.
Annual output of 5G tongues from Välinge shows significant growth"The production is challenging with extreme dimension tolerance demands. 6 years of experience and our large purchasing power of raw materials combined with investments in large moulding tools gives our licensees the possibility to get very cost efficient components with the highest quality for their flooring products. This solution is far better for our licensees, than if they should have been forced to solve their own supplies. The volume development confirms that we have made the right investments and decisions to support our licensees", says Marcus Bergelin, Director Technology & Support
The tongues for 5G, 5G-C, 5G-W or 5G-S are supplied in 8-, 16- or in 32-cavity sheets like shown aboveFor further information, please contact:
