The US Patent Office grants "Tongue Space Angling Loc" US 7,121,059 B2, 17/10/2006

Viken, Sweden - November 28, 2006

The recently granted patent involves a floor panel provided with an angling locking system allowing vertical and horizontal locking and includes a space between an inner part of the groove and the distal, outer part of the tongue. This space leads to an easier installation and allows for larger tolerances in the production.

The US Patent Office has granted Välinge Innovation a new patent - "Herringbone" US 7,127,860 B2, 31/10/2006

This granted patent covers floor panels provided with a mirror inverted mechanical locking system. Once these panels are installed the consumer will have a perfect copy of the traditional herringbone wood floor, but installed in a much faster way and at a significant lower cost.

The Chinese wood producers Jilin Newco Wood Industries Co. based in the Jilin province and Daedal Flooring Co limited based in the Jiangsu province have signed a worldwide license agreement with Välinge Innovation AB.

Chinafloors partners up with Valinge

Välinge Innovation AB has recently signed a license agreement in China with Chinafloors Timber Shanghai Ltd. The agreement covers glue free laminate flooring as well as wood flooring.

The European Patent Office grants "Small Strip patent"

The European Patent Office has granted a patent protecting so-called "Small Strips" to Välinge Innovation. This patent, EP 1 497 510, 28/06/06, with a priority date of 22/04/02 further strengthens the Välinge patent position in Europe and is a recognition of Välinge’s innovative work by the European Patent Office.

Kronospan and Kronotex strengthens the cooperation with Välinge through an acquisition of 40% of the shares

In 2005 Välinge entered into a license and cooperation agreement regarding laminate flooring with Kronospan (Kronospan Technical Co. Limited) and Kronotex (Flooring Technologies Ltd.). The result of this cooperation so far has been favourable for both parties. Therefore it has been agreed to extend this cooperation further to a joint ownership, where Kronospan and Kronotex will acquire 20% each of the shares of Välinge. Nordstjernan and the Pervan family will still remain as the largest shareholders, with a combined ownership of 60% of the shares. The parties have decided not to disclose the purchase price.
