Välinge further strengthens its position with patents from Swiss Krono Group

Viken, Sweden -

Välinge strengthens its already solid position as the key patent-holder and licensor in relation to floor locking technologies, including Fold Down technologies such as 5G® and related solutions.

In the end of 2017, Välinge acquired several patent families from Kronotex Flooring Technologies: an IP company within the Swiss Krono Group. The patents cover, among others, various solutions of fold down profiles made in the core material as well as solutions made with a separate locking tongue. The scope of the Intellectual Property covers laminate, wood as well as plastic based cores. Välinge thereby further broadens the scope of own and 3rd party IP in relation to fold down technologies for flooring.
"Our opinion is that the recently added patents are relevant for many fold down solutions in the market, including designs provided from other licensors, and we now intend to take any necessary actions to prevent unlicensed use of our IP. Välinge already holds the exclusive rights to the Classen Fold Down patents worldwide. By adding several relevant patent families with strong and enforceable claims in main markets, such as Germany and the US, we further strengthen our position in order to ensure that our licensees get the best technical solutions as well as the necessary protection needed today. No other licensor can offer such a package," says Mr. Niclas Håkansson, CEO of Välinge Innovation.
