KIRKBI, the holding and investment company of the Kirk Kristiansen family, has signed an agreement to acquire KKR’s 49.8% stake in Välinge, a Swedish industrial R&D company, alongside the founding Pervan family that via Pervanovo Invest AB will maintain its majority ownership of 50.2%. The partnership with KIRKBI aims to further strengthen Välinge’s position as a leading industrial R&D company and flooring producer.
Välinge has acquired a new state-of-the-art factory from its mother company Pervanovo Invest AB to meet the increasing demand from its licensees while Pervanovo continues to invest in powder technology in order to serve its direct customers.
The Curaçao-based company Innovations4Flooring recently filed a petition for Inter Partes Review (IPR) of the Välinge patent U.S. Patent No 7,398,625. All documents referred to in the IPR were already considered by the Patent Office during the examination of the patent and are therefore on record. It is Välinge’s strong belief that the claims of the patent will be found patentable by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Välinge has signed a license agreement with the Dutch furniture manufacturer Flens BV for the use of Threespine® click furniture technology. Flens will implement Threespine in the company’s products thereby offering its customers easy assembly and advanced design opportunities.
Chinese floor producer Jiangyin Funuo New Decoration Materials Co., Ltd. has entered into a global non-exclusive license agreement with Välinge for the use of the 2G and 5G® locking systems in WPC and LVT/SPC flooring products.
