5G is the brand for our globally recognized locking systems used by more than 100 floor producers around the world. With 5G, floor installation has never been easier. These locking systems are based on a single action installation method suitable for all types and widths of floor products.
The boards are locked on the long side with a traditional angling method. On the short side, the different versions of the 5G locking systems enable
simple and fast installation by vertical snap (Original 5G / 5G-i) or side push (5G-S and 5G-W) without the need of any tools.
5G installation secures installation with a visible and audible locking function. When a panel is folded down, a flexible plastic tongue is pushed into a tongue-groove. As the panel reaches its final position, the locking tongue snaps out into a wedge groove, emits a ”click” sound and locks the product vertically.
For laminate flooring
An integrated locking tongue is pushed inwards when the next panel is folded down. As the panel reaches it’s final position, the tongue flexes back and into the wedge groove on the folded panel, thereby locking it in the vertical direction.
For LVT/WPC flooring
As a panel is folded down, a locking strip is smoothly pushed downwards due to each panel’s guiding surfaces. When the guiding surfaces have
passed each other, the locking strip flexes back and thereby pulls down the folded panel into locked position.
Side push technology allows instant installation adjustments. When a panel is folded down, there are no separation forces. The panels are not automatically locked during folding. Locking is secured by the installation of the next row, pushing and displacing the tongue into locked position.
2G is a strong and robust mechanical locking system. The system is preferably combined with fold-down on the short side for fastest and easiest installation. However, it can also be used both on long and short sides for an angle-angle installation.
The 2G and 5G profiles have both been optimized for resilient and thin products. The 2G angling locking profile is available for 3 mm flooring products and the 5G fold down systems are available for flooring products in thicknesses down to 4 mm.
Välinge's High Precision Profiling (HPP) method improves production tolerances in the floorboard during profiling, especially on boards with
a surface layer that contains wear resistant particles. High Precision Profiling also minimize the effects of floorboard swimming, thereby reducing chain wear and in turn achieving a longer run time.
